JOB SUMMARY:
This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Community Development. This position manages the 4C Farms grain production up to 7500 acres with option to expand; organizes, direct, monitor and control and evaluate the grain operations and functions of the farm. This position will also ensure all operations meet safety and environmental regulations, develop and manage annual budgets and expenses, track grain markets and commodity pricing, monitor crop health, fertility and control strategies, build partnerships with grain buyers, assist with operating, maintaining and repair farm equipment and implement preventative maintenance plans, research and recommend infrastructure upgrades and investments, mentor and train Cowessess members, and create seasonal employment and on-the-job training opportunities. This position will work closely with the Director of Community Development to ensure alignment with strategic planning, workforce development and community initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 years of minimum experience working in the agricultural industry. Agricultural Education will be an asset.
- Have a good understanding of crop growth and land assessment.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, time management skills, excellent public relations.
- Knowledge of agricultural programs or software that pertain to business and machinery. Farm machinery mechanical background is a definite asset.
- Financial background will be an asset for budgeting, capital projects and record keeping including cost tracking and reporting.
- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. for manual labor.
- Must have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the sales industry to be able to deal with business and provide goods and services for 4C Farms.
