JOB SUMMARY:
This position will require an individual who is motivated, organized and flexible to take on new tasks and projects on an ongoing basis. The Director of Community Development will report to the Executive Director and work with the Chairperson of the Board to coordinate the mandate of the Board of Directors of Little Child Community Development Board. This individual will be responsible for the coordination and management of the day-to-day operations of the Community Development Board. The Director will also be responsible for the overall management of Cowessess First Nation community development. They will conduct research on market opportunities and develop feasible plans and projects to advance new business development; responsible for preparing funding opportunities and maintaining confidentiality as this is critical to the success of this position. They will develop opportunities and maintain systems for ongoing community development initiatives including 4C Farm and Ranch, Cowessess Gas and Grocery I, Cowessess Mall and Last Oak Golf and Country Club. This position is also a general administration support as needed to advance the departments mandate and will work with Cowessess Ventures Limited on community development and social enterprise activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Post-secondary education in Business Administration is considered an asset, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience.
-A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related work experience.
-Demonstrated experience in office administration and administrative support.
-Project management certification or relevant experience is preferred; willingness to pursue additional training is required.
-Experience in report writing, financial documentation, record keeping, proposal writing, and research.
-Experience or familiarity with software-related projects that support organizational success and community initiatives.
