Based in the Nipawin office within the North Service Areas, this role delivers child protection services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act, using the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice. The ministry is seeking dedicated, compassionate professionals who can navigate complex family situations with professionalism and sound judgment. The ideal candidate works effectively with families and communities, demonstrates cultural responsiveness, and collaborates with colleagues, courts, and partner organizations, including First Nation Child and Family Service agencies.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university approved by SASW/CASW or CASWE. Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, child abuse and neglect indicators, family risk assessment, and intervention planning is required. The role requires effective communication, documentation, and case management skills, including managing court processes and long-term care planning. Willingness to travel, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and transport children and parents is mandatory.
