Job Description
Position Summary The Peer Support Worker provides addictions recovery support to individuals who are struggling with substance misuse. The Peer Support Worker provides one on one and group support in a residential setting, while providing a safe, trauma informed and bi-cultural environment of recovery and support.

o Personal experience in recovery from addiction challenges and ability to draw upon wellness

Qualifications
o Personal experience in recovery from addiction challenges and ability to draw upon wellness and recovery experience
o Peer support related training is a strong asset
o Knowledge in harm reduction principles is an asset
o Mental Health & Wellness Certificate and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered an asset
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ability to work flexible hours and work at all services sites as determined and scheduled by the Executive Director;
Must possess a Class 5 Drivers License and a personal, reliable vehicle;
Must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate;
Must complete a criminal records check; including a Vulnerable Sector Search;
Must lead a clean & sober lifestyle.
