Job Description
Great Plains College is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic instructor for our Heavy Equipment Operator Program at the Kindersley Campus. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the HEO Instructor will plan, organize and implement an instructional program and learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Each program will be 6 weeks in length

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the HEO Instructor will plan, organize and implement an instructional program and learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Each program will be 6 weeks in length and will involve classroom, simulator and project site instruction.
Start Date: June 1, 2026
End Date: July 10, 2026
Student Contact Days: 40.0
Total Contract Days: 45.25
This position is dependent upon program enrollment.
Qualifications:
The HEO Instructor should bring the following qualifications to this position:
-Minimum 5 years experience operating a range of equipment including:
-Motor grader
-Front end loader
-Track hoe
-Dozer
-Power Mobile Equipment Operator designation or equivalent
-Knowledgeable and confident in articulating and demonstrating the skills and techniques required to operation the above machinery
-Preference will be given to candidates who have instructional experience and/or knowledge in an adult teaching environment or hold a valid teaching certificate (ex. Certificate in Adult Learning and Continuing Ed)
-Available to participate in heavy equipment simulator training and be comfortable providing instruction to students on mobile simulators
-Available to consult in Heavy Equipment Operator instructional development process
-Possess patience and flexibility
-Demonstrates valuing diversity
