Job purpose: Shelter Workers are responsible for the provision of direct services, support, and safety of residents in the shelter, as well as for support and referral services to Crisis Line and Business Line callers.

    Robust communication, active listening, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills;
    Exceptional social perceptiveness  awareness of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do;
    Capable of working

    Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
    Sound ethical judgment.
    Proficiency in compiling data and developing statistical reports.
    Strong time and task management skills.
    Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness withing a rapidly changing environment.
    Ability to manage stress and remain calm in stressful and/or emotional situations.

Job Specific Requirements:
    Grade 12 or equivalent.
    Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license.
    Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
    Ability to work shiftwork.
    Physically able to stand for long periods of time, shovel snow, walk up and down stairs, and lift at least 50 pounds.
