Broadband Technician (Fibre & Coax)
The Broadband Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots internet, TV, and phone services delivered over fibre optic and coaxial networks. This role includes working with customers, performing technical fieldwork, and ensuring reliable network performance.

Broadband Technician (Fibre & Coax)
The Broadband Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots internet, TV, and phone services delivered over fibre optic and coaxial networks. This role includes working with customers, performing technical fieldwork, and ensuring reliable network performance.
Responsibilities:
- Install and activate fibre and coax services for residential and commercial customers.
- Run, terminate, and test fibre drops, coax lines, and in-home wiring to industry standards.
- Install ONTs, modems, routers, splitters, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair fibre and coax issues, including damaged lines, connectors, and equipment.
- Perform light level tests, signal checks, and use tools such as OTDRs, optical meters, and RF meters.
- Educate customers on equipment use, Wi-Fi performance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Follow all safety procedures, including ladder safety, PPE use, and fall-arrest guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with fibre optic and coax installation, repair, and testing.
- Knowledge of RF levels, signal flow, and home networking.
- Ability to read maps, diagrams, and technical work orders.
- Comfortable working at heights, in tight spaces, and outdoors.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Requirements:
- Valid drivers license
- WCB, $1M Liability insurance, Sask business licence
-Preference given to those with their own reliable work vehicle capable of carrying a 28ft ladder
Availability:
Shifts are alternating weekly, 8am-6pm and 12pm-9pm. Preference given to people available Sundays.
Additional Note:
This is a piece-rate position, meaning pay is based on the number of jobs completed rather than hourly wages. The more work you take on and successfully complete, the more you earn. Technicians who are efficient, organized, and motivated can significantly increase their income through higher job volume.
