The Educational Assistant is to create a positive class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each students ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

The Educational Assistant is to create a positive class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each students ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

The educational assistant works within the job description and assignment framework and makes decisions only within that framework. Educational assistants are responsible for student safety and academic assistance as assigned to them.

Educational Assistants are responsible for the support of designated students. They are responsible to the principal of the school and work under the immediate direction of the Learning Resource Teacher. The duties of educational assistants are primarily carried out within the regular classroom setting e.g. Students are generally not removed from that setting, unless their unscheduled break.
