The City of Swift Current is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Community Services Division. This is a temporary full-time position that will end on December 31, 2024.

The City of Swift Current is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Community Services Division. This is a temporary full-time position that will end on December 31, 2024.
Under the supervision of the Events and Program Manager, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative and facility scheduling work for the Community Services Division. In addition, this position will work and liaise with community groups on special events and programs.
Basic Requirements:
-Successful completion of Grade 12,
-Enrolled in or completed a certificate in Business/Office Administration from a recognized community college, technical or vocational school or institute;
-Willingness to become Safe Places - Youth Certified;
-Previous experience in scheduling, reception, filing, administrative duties;
-Ability to type, with accuracy and speed;
-Good working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment;
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
-Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public;
-Ability to adapt and take initiative to meet community and department needs.
-Ability to work independently and with a self-directed approach, as well as the ability to work within a team and with all levels of staff and management;
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
Flexible to work outside of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. including evenings and weekends.
Desirable Requirements:
-Preference will be given to an individual with experience in the Recreation and Parks field, Community planning and/or Event Management;
-Customer Service Training;
-Experience in accounting, finance, or business-related functions.
General knowledge of city parks and open spaces, understanding of sports, recreation, and culture organizations; and
-Knowledge of JD Edwards and Xplore Recreation (Perfect Mind) computer systems.
