As the Senior Technologist, Special Services, you will provide relief operator water and wastewater applied operational technical expertise and support. You will deliver the corporate meter program; perform leak detection services; participate in the coordination of water quality sample collection and data including compiling applicable reports and you will assist with undertaking other technology support activities within the work unit.
To qualify, you will have a two-year technical diploma; preference will be given to candidates with a Water Resources Engineering Technology diploma. Certification as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) or Certified Technician (C.Tech.) is required to be obtained. In accordance with the Operator Certification Board requirements, or existing industry reciprocity agreements, certification at the appropriate levels in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment are required to be obtained.
In addition to the above qualifications, the job requires 4 years of progressively more responsible experience in the following areas:
Working knowledge of water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment processes; and regional system operation and maintenance procedures including pipeline, pump and valve repair.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, outside agencies and the public and develop and maintain a positive corporate climate.
Special Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check and Drug and Alcohol test. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Saskatchewan drivers license is required.
